2012 Christmas Party

On Monday, December 10, 2012, Your Bookshop team celebrated their year with a Christmas bash at Peroni's Restaurant in Parramatta.

It was a bittersweet evening for even as we celebrated the successful opening of two new stores, we also farewelled our business partner and co-founder of YB bookstores, Barry Araghi, who announced his retirement.

His partners, Mark and Kamal both gave moving speeches, thanking the staff for their hard work throughout the year. In his speech Kamal thanked Barry for years of friendship which went back to their university days in England during the 1960's. At the conclusion of the speeches, they presented Barry with a parting gift on behalf of the staff.

 

 



Of course there would be no Your Bookshop, if not for our the continued support of our loyal customers. And so on behalf of our YB team, I wish to thank you for your continued patronage and wish you and your family a prosperous and happy festive season.

Janella Purcell

Your Bookshop in conjunction with Five Dock Library, hosted an evening with naturopath, nutritionist and chef, Janella Purcell.
Janella talked about using healthier alternatives to the foods we commonly eat. She showed examples of her recipes and where to source the products. Afterwards, she stayed back to chat to the audience and sign copies of her books.

Tony Park visited Concord Library on Monday 19th of November to talk about his latest thriller set in Africa, Dark Heart. Park spoke of his longtime love affair with Africa, his hopes for the continent and the events that set the backdrop for his novels.

Your Bookshop in collaboration with Five Dock Library is proud to present an evening with celebrity naturopat and nutritionist, Janella Purcell. Janella is back with a brand new cookbook, full of healthy eating recipes and ideas. She will be talking about the ideas behind her best selling books as well as demonstrations of some of her simple recipes.
There will be light refreshments served.

YOUR BOOKSHOP AUTHOR TALK - BELINDA CASTLES

Your Bookshop and Ryde Library are proud to present an author event with the vogel award winning author, Belinda Castles.
Belinda's latest novel, Hannah & Emil is a love story set against the turmoil of two World Wars and the rise of Nazi Germany. Based on her real life grandparents, and the events that led to their migration to Australia.
Copies of Belinda's book will be available for sale.
There will be light refreshments served after the talk.

At Your Bookshop, we are proud of our Australian authors, so it's a great priviledge to partner with Ryde Library for an event with Belinda Castles.

Author profile: Belinda has a Masters in Novel Writing from the University of Manchester. Her first novel was Falling Woman, and her second novel, The River Baptists, was the winner of the 2006 The Australian/Vogel Literary Award.
